FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The reader runs in your browser: the file is read from your device and nothing is sent to a server.
Why does it say there is no text?
Scanned PDFs are pictures of pages, so there is no text to read. The Android app can recognize the text on your phone (OCR) and read it aloud.
Which voices can I use?
The voices your browser and operating system provide. Chrome and Edge include natural online voices; Safari uses the voices installed on your Mac or iPhone.
Can I listen with the screen off?
Browsers usually stop speaking when the screen turns off. PDF Voice Reader for Android keeps reading with the screen off and has a sleep timer.
